I’m with the PeaPod, I don’t really like it either. That’s why God invented shotguns. Word of advice, don’t fly a drone camera over my house. It probably won’t come home.

There was a post awhile back about someone catching bait or something just off the beach at HH.
Believe they said there was a buzzing sound and there was one of them just a few feet above them from someone probably on the beach flying it.

Cannot shoot hem down under certain conditions and I am not sure what those are, so I probably would.

Out of shotgun range and too small to hit with a rifle and a few 30 round mags with my old eyes. That would be the only condition it makes it home.
I did have one fly and hover right over me while fishing in Broad River near Parris Island a year or so back. It looked military to me, not a civilian model. I didn’t shoot it down, if they want to watch me not catch a fish, go ahead. But not in my back yard.

its a me generation. look at me in my selfie. look at me doing fun stuff. look at me how wonderful my life is. look at me sight fishin the bass with my custom buff looking pensively into the setting sun with the bridge in the background.
ever notice on social media, you only see the fun stuff. you know, them knocking back shots at the cool waterfront bar - not later in the night when they’re vomiting on their flipflops or losing their job the next day

When I started this thread I didn’t think about all of the negative aspects of drones. I just thought it would be a neat way of catching some great birds eye view photos etc of fishing and fish behavior. Ov course there is the abuse of most anything. It’s up to the user to do it responsibly. When available there will be some very responsible great uses of this new gizmo. I’m the master of the obvious. Just say’n

Little did I know it was illegal in a national park. OK I get it. Its perfectly fine for a group of 50 tooth jarring motorcycles to roar by with all the noise they bring but don’t let some little quad copter that sounds like a big mosquito fly by and absolutely ruin my day. Nothing against a bunch of loud leaking thundering Harley’s, some of my best friends ride them. Just don’t see the consistency.
