New Sea Bass Legislation H-3735

I don’t know if it really makes a difference, but the reference to the genus species of black sea bass as written in the bill is incorrect. The genus is “Centropristis” not “CENTROPRIATES”.

There are a few scrivener’s errors that need correcting before it goes to full committee.

Phin,
I do not disagree. I think this is exactly what needs to be done.

I am just thinking about potential retaliation from Cupka and the likes. Not that it matters to me. This is something that needs to be done and is worth fighting for.

Thank you for doing this!

Once successful, I hope we can persuade someone in NC to do the same thing using SC as our model.

Keep up the good fight!

Thanks Yellabird and all the others speaking up. We definitely need to get control of our State waters first. Imagine the feds trying to regulate our Deer & Turkeys??? This is the same concept. However the C-Bass problem really does start out beyond 3 miles. Just try to catch anything else from 35 to 90 feet…good luck.

There is no way we could ever keep up with population explosion by fishing the State waters year round…don’t get me wrong…it is the right approach…so I guess one step at a time.

The idea of extending state waters sounds enticing. The threat of Feds punishing us for this is ridiculous…they are punishing us anyway and will continue to do so. At some point we all have to say enough is enough.
