Going in the mouth and out a nostril is foul hook proof pretty much but this way u go in mouth out left nostril if fishing on right side of the boat and vise versa on left…

That’s hilarious! Funniest thing I’ve read in a while! Great hook “pointers”!
Yeah…those lake murray stripers can feed just like big blue marlin…they rise up from the depths, show up in the spread and like to eat from the inside of the pattern out. Gotta make sure your hooks are set up to point to the inside of the pattern to “snag” them as they leave. Probably could pull a teaser with your planer boards and switch them off to a horse ballyhoo rigged on a blue/white Hawaiian eye on a circle hook - if you’re conservation conscious!

Looks like the O2 level has dropped again today. Not a good sign. If I remember correctly it wasn’t much lower than this during the last bad fish kill (or should I just say striper kill, because that’s what it really will be if it drops much more).
I wonder what this does for tourism. You know, I mean the fishermen who used to come to Murray, from out of state, just to catch a big striper. Spending their vacations here fishing, eating out, etc.
I never tried it with gloves Tim cause I have a hard time keeping them dang cigarettes stuck in my face with gloves on…lol A guide on Lake Lanier taught me about it. The summertime is really the only time it makes a visible difference…I don’t know if its the “dry” hands that remove the slime coat or if its the oils of the skin but the bait net works as the moist protective barrier to your hands…

I always wet my had on the bottom of the net before touching the bait, that seems to help. Might have to try the net technique too. But I heard that net technique only works for baits on the starboard side
