PSA is a paying sponsor and supports this website, plus a benefit to the hunting and fishing community. I don’t mind the adds a bit, just the pictures that take 5 minutes to load:sunglasses:
I am not a paying advertiser and I don’t advertise here. There is a difference.

Archer, Larry…I absolutely agree PSA is a paying sponsor, as we have been a paying sponsor since this websites inception. Simply asking a question why have I been chastised in the past for any kind of advertisement in a discussion forum on here, to the point it got where I just no longer posted anything bc of the rumblings when I did post a sale or something. maybe things have changed…hence why I ask! Not moaning folks, I personally have no problem with it so long as it stays equal especially seeing as we are the primary sponsor…for how many years?
And Optiker, how many of those jigheads have I moved in the past 2 weeks? hahahahaha

I guess when something new comes along,it's all good for awhile. It will get to the point to where it will phase out.
I am personally thankful for the sponsors on this site and to the Admin.for this site because it is very informative, entertaining at times and you get to meet some good people along the way.

Was it admin or forum members doing the chastising? I doubt admin would do something like that publicly so I’d guess it was forum members. Personally, if it wasn’t admin, I wouldn’t have stopped. As a sponsor, been here since day one or new, I think you’ve earned the right to plug your business on here. Sponsors make this website possible and these sposnors support our way of life. I don’t understand why people would have a problem with sponsors plugging their businesses on here. If they don’t like it, they don’t have to read the thread, support the sponsor’s businesses or this forum.
I say “spam” away…but I still think of an incredibly delicious sandwich when I see you talking about “spam.”
Let me see if I can clear this up a little. There have been members in the past that did not like when a business promoted themselves on the discussion board. This is what Reelhunter is referring to. I think over time the complexion of the board has changed quite a bit. I personally have no problem with someone that sponsors this site promoting their business especially if it is to the benefit of our site members, expamples of a seminar coming up or a sale they are having. I will say that this can cut both ways with the members. If you go overboard with promoting it can become tiresome and people will complain. I have never seen this done by anyone involved in this thread. We are working to make the site more Sponsor friendly by adding the sponsors page for blatant promotion that people know when they go to that page they are going to get just that, but I also feel there is a very tactful way to promote your business while providing information as well. Reelhunter, you have shared some valuable tips and information over the years and this is bringing content to the site. I have no problem with you adding your business link to your postings and letting members know about good deals and events you have going on. I will leave it up to each of the sponsors to use their discretion in how they do this. Reelhunter sorry I did not have time to call you yet to discuss, still at the hospital. I just wanted to clear anything up before we got to far down the rabbit hole with this topic. We greatly appreciate all of our sponsors and I look forward to input from any of you in how we can make the site work better for you. Just shoot me an email andy@charlestonfishing.com
Juice I would certainly hope you did not come to that conclusion from my post, far from the intent. I simply was asking for clarification as a primary sponsor.
Andy, like always, has promptly clarified for me…thank you. Anyone that has been on this site as long as I have has certainly seen how bad I one could get chastised for posting a “spam sammich” Heck I handle FFL transfers from PSA products all the time. bring it.
and I understand maybe I SHOULD not have stopped posting, but the reality is one person will only tolerate so much negative banter before just letting it go and focusing elsewhere from a business perspective
yea i will still get my fishing stuff at haddrells and my gun stuff from PSA now, when the crowd dies down. Scott, daryl, and the rest, yall are awesome! When i was a kid my dad would send me to all the different places around town to get my oil changed. HE said they were all friends and good local businesses and he wanted to support them all. Nothing wrong with supporting both.
I’d rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave.

I went to PSA the other day… it’s hard to beat their pricing though! There TT for instance are $0.50 less than anywhere else. Their reels are great prices too. I just wish they carried those Trouteye jig heads… maybe one day!
at 2.79 per gallon, and saving .50 on a pack of soft plastics…haha
in all seriousness though, join any of our local fishing clubs such as the stono river club, east cooper fishing club, Summerville saltwater anglers, etc and you always receive 10% off your purchase at either HPT location. Not the brightest bulb in the box, but now you are saving well over .50 per pack
and seriously, PSA carries some great products such as Elite bows as well as some great firearms at fair pricing. I also carry elite bows and they are truly the finest bow on the market you will shoot, I shoot one myself. Just got done working on a bow today purchased from a PSA that needed just a little tweaking.
Welcome to chuck PSA, look forward to stopping by and introducing myself over some coffee and donuts
At 2.79 per gallon, saving .19 more on a pack of soft plastics…haha…and only if you’re in a fishing club…haha
Granted, PSA has a long way to go before they are the “go to spot” for fishing product, but with their pricing and selection, it would be hard for someone, without a bias, to ignore them forever.
And as far as the gun-related product/pricing and hunting product/pricing…no one else in town should even think about questioning PSA on that one. That’s pretty much undisputable…again, without bias.
It’s pretty clear to see the underlying tone of where this thread is going.

Whats all the bit%$@*ing about if it weren’t for all the info and entertainment with the hands on experience that the posters primarily the sponsors and unselfish participants provide ,there would be little need for a lot of us to read any of the posts!!! Seldom do I read through the posts and not learn something or fail to get answers to questions (mostly stupid ones) that I ask.
all gave some , some gave all–only two offered to die for you, christ for your sins , the soldier for your freedom!!!
Guys let it go. There are enough anglers and outdoor enthusiast in town to support the shops we have or we would not have them. Support who you want to support, but beating one down to show support of another really does not make anyone look good and is getting to be petty at this point.
