Rhodhiss is the 2nd lake in the Catawba River chain situated below lake James and above Lake Hickory. It’s a long skinny fairly shallow lake, about 10 miles long and only 1000 yards wide at most. 50 feet is deep in most of the lake, except above the dam going into Lake Hickory.
It’s mostly a bass lake, good numbers of hybrid striped bass and a healthy small mouth fishery.
The best fish we caught today was the small mouth, but didn’t try that hard or fish that long, plus it was mid-day and slow.
