Although I keep a spinning rod and level wind in the boat I almost exclusively fly fish. I have way too many fly rods but in my defense they were collected over many years.

Take a 1X4 of whatever length you have room for, some rope and poultry staples. Make a pocket with the rope and staple it to the 1X4. Make two units like that and screw them to the ceiling joists. Less than $25.00, gets them off the floor and keeps the unaccessable to most.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

THIS THREAD SHOULD GO AWAY! The problem with rod racks is that too many people can see them too easily! “Why do you need that many rods? Why don’t you sell some? I could have more shoes if you cut back a little on gear. You have all that stuff in Charleston so why do you keep all those rods at home in Greenville? Do you need all that stuff? We could have retired with all the money spent on that boat!”
I am glad to see from the photos that my affliction is not a chance mutation but appears to be rather common in the species.
By the way Fly Vet, the last time I saw that many Winston cases was in the old Foothills Fly Fishing shop in Greenville.
Aren’t those Pod rod holders from a local company? Please provide info if you have it.
Sorry Bart… the company that makes them doesn’t have their contact information on them. It’s called a “Rod Steward”. I bought it at the boat show a couple of years ago at either the Haddrell’s or the Charleston Angler booth. Give one of them a call, they should be able to help you.
Flat it…no one should have that many rods. It makes your garage look cluttered. Bonzo and I will let you store a few at our houses since you are a member in good standing here

Mrs Bonzo asked if I could bring some of my crap to your house anyway…
Viper, I like the simplicity of your holder and will try something similar with conduit. Maybe cover the metal with foam pipe insulator or a beach noodle to protect the rods?
Have a friend who took a bunch of antler sheds and screwed a piece of stained wood onto them, similar to a plague. Then just hangs those on the wall with the racks facing up obviously. He is able to have one of his passions hold up tools for his other passion. It looks cool, but is not as practical as some of the pictures shared.
That’s classic RLS. LOL.
Oh, I’ve had that forever!
Oh, I traded some old stuff with ____ for that.
That’s some stuff my brother didn’t want anymore.
Just joking, we never had any issues in my house with purchases. However, I do have a problem with getting rid of anything. I prefer the term Collector over Hoarder
I used those Berkely premade ones from west marine 12-14$ I think, hung from some 2x4’s on the roof of mine cause I am not the tallest nor do I want to get a ladder out to grab my rod n reels

That would make me a little nervous on the back of the door like that but looks like it works just fine. Amazing what you can come up with when you have limited space.
