Potential Fish Kill 2025 & 2026--- Data thread

Last night just before 9pm the water temp was 48 degrees.

Tonight just before 9pm the water temp is 45.5 degrees.

Both nights 9pm is somewhere near the middle of the falling tide.

I think thats right, I’m too close to my 2nd bourbon treat to double check.

I’m disappointed in the gramys this evening, so there’s that.

anyway, fingers crossed for the finned critters tonight

stay warm…

Thanks for the info @Optiker. Much appreciated! Hoping and praying for the best outcome.

North Carolina just shut off all commercial and recreational sea trout harvest until June 30th, 2026.

Coastal North Carolina got a double whammy with around a foot of snow along the coast coupled with bitter cold from the nor easter and the jet stream dip.

It’s way past sad,it’s real bad.

Here’s a pic my buddy from Emerald Isle early this morning.

This should hopefully tie this off with a bow for 2026. Temp trend very similar to last year and I’m sure we had some knock back on the trout but as FatRat has shown, they are still around thankfully. Now can we have about 8 years of warm winters please???

We dodged that one when many other parts of their range didn’t!
