Sailfish 2660 cc - any feedback?

So if 10 people tell you a boat is more prone to wet you than others, you buy one anyway to see for yourself?

I wish I had more time to fish, or I would have kept my 2660! The only thing I would have done differently to my Sailfish would have been to add spray curtains. It was always on my list of “to do’s”, but I could never seem to get the opportunity to follow through. With that said, one way I did find to keep the spray down for the ride out/in was to run the boat with a slight list down sea or down wind. This made a HUGE difference with the amount of spray that would come on board. Of course if I knew Boz was on the “windy” side of the boat for the ride, I’d do anything possible for him to get wet! Hahaha. With the F150’s all day fishing offshore as far as you’d want, the most I’ve ever burn was 104 gallons. AND that was when I had dirty injectors. If she’s running well, average fuel consumption was 85-90 gallons for a day. I’d run her as fast as I could when the ocean would let me. Top speed in the ocean was 36 knots. Again, that is with 5 grown men, fish in fish box, full of fuel (195 gallon tank), center live well full of bottled water, only 3 bir’s, front cooler w food, and all of the other gear needed. The only other way to keep from getting wet would be to outrun the spray. I’ve talked w other Sailfish owners about this and that’s why they had 250’s on them. I DID try to get the boat to plane using one engine…well, that AINT happenin! Feel free to PM me if you need any other ■■■■■■■■, but over all, if I had to do it again…my wife says we’d get the same boat!

I’m not trying to start a interargument. I just know that I’ve fished in lots and lots of small CCs over the years. Not one of them is dry. That includes Sailfish.

True story: I once saw a boat leaving out of the cut at 4am named Slingers and Gaffers.

I hope you had words with them. They poached that from you

I thought Frosty coined that…

Awesome ■■■■■■■■, thanks for the input! My wife wants this boat, dare I say MORE, than I do! We put an offer on one with 250’s so maybe we can outrun the spray AND get it on plane with only one motor.

Fingers crossed that all the ducks line up and I can bring it to Charleston in the next week
