What if we pay higher boat registration fees and taxes and higher fishing license fees, 10 bucks a year is a joke, (i would be willing to pay more,) so the state can hire more DNR officials to police the ones who do bend and break the rules, we could organize neighborhood watch groups for the boat ramps so we would not have to worry about our vehicles or having stuff stolen from them while we are fishing, and they could even look at everyone’s catch and “When we see someone breaking the rules, it’s our job to call them out on it.”</font id=“red”> we could hold fundraisers for DNR Officers and other public officials , what do you guys think?
“it is our responsibility to take care of this resource and self police”</font id=“red”> so lets get involved …lets do something in a positive way, I am willing to help. .Are You?
I think im leaving this site. To many high and mighty tree huggers for me. If I catch 50 or 5 of those high and mighty oversized croakers its my business and my business alone. Everyone sees redfish as the little puppy in in the pound getting the gas treatment. Let me be the first to tell u there are more of them than bream in the lake. Maybe im old school or maybe im just not as liberal as yall but where I come from the last thing we do is turn a fellow fisherman into the gw.

don’t leave, your brutal honesty is what we need,i was being sarcastic in my last post and i apologize for doing so, we need to realize that there are much worse things in this world to get upset over than if someone bends or breaks the rules of fishing, yes we need rules and laws to follow, but 55 mph is a law that is bent and broken by everyone, for the most part those of us who love to fish and enjoy the resources of this great land do appreciate them and will take care of them, and we will abide by the rules, but we need to put our anger toward the things like child neglect and abuse, drug dealers and users, murderers, rapist and those who steal for a living, it is easy to get mad but lets get mad at those who deserve it… that was the only point i was trying to make, life is way to short to become upset with each other over minor things , and yes believe it or not one fish over is against the law and if DNR caught me for that , i deserve what i get , but it is a minor thing as compared to so much more , lets just look out for each other and enjoy the resources God has given us and put that fish back, lets help each other and " tree my dog", thanks
you people need to get a life. Sound like like a bunch of cackling hens. This site has surely gone to hell!!!

Before you leave, please post a picture of your boat so we can point you out to the DNR.

Redfish really isn't even that good to eat IMO.
Definitely not my favorite but, baked redfish is delicious.

I will just as long as you post a pic of yours so I can feel it full of buckshot
Wow!!!I think the limit should be 6 per person.keep anything over 12 inches…Doubt that would impact the population.Might even help some,Just require the first six over 12 inches to be kept or all releasd.Anyone that wants to release can…Cant tell you how many times I have had to catch and release more than 10 just to keep 3 inside these absurd limits…Guides and folks that just fish to release are gonna scream bloddy murder about this… people who enjoy fishing and cleaning and eating their fish are the real deal here…That is why we fish! Not to take the fellows and tramautize them for fun?You who prevent fishermen from keeping their catch are just greedy and protective of your desires and use the excuse of conservation to get your way…All the aholes that catch twenty or thirty and release actually do more harm than good…Set a reasonable limit…eat what you catch or leave them alone!

Toppyblue can I get an amen. Glade to see im not the onlyone around that catch and release into peanut oil.
there is no waste in fish, if they are put back and die because of the stress, they are food for other fish and crabs etc, if i keep and eat then they are not wasted, it is a win win situation lets get back on track and share our inshore reports, it has been too bad weather for me this last week and i have not gotten out, maybe sunday , looking good, i like that release in peanut oil, i like um grilled with lemon and butter but that is another forum

Wow…more dnr? Turn in each other? I’m new to site and have really enjoyed it but this is to much…I loved posting catch pics but now in the back of my mind there will be some hesitation…guess I’ll keep my catch pics to friends and family only… Lets get more traffic cops?

karma…
Well thats a no brainer that if someone posts a picture of a bucket full on under/over sized gamefish or a stringer of reds over his limit, that someone is going to say something on here. And why wouldn’t they. That’s just using common sense there.

Toppy for once I’m in your corner 100%. I’m not going fishing if I can’t eat them. Its just that too many people want to mind other peoples business instead of their own.
