Just having a little fun at your expense.
They nailed this fly. I have not seen a cruising fish, stop and inhale any fly like they did this fly. I caught one that was 10lbs that was in a dead run off the flat, coming right at me, and he stopped to nail this thing.
Great job with them Mike. I am going to give it a go again today for a couple of hours.
Thanks again.
glad to hear they are working… and good luck today man!

That’s actually a good idea, fiddlers have purple on them so why not “match the hatch”

Mike,
When you attach the legs to this fly, do you alternate flash and the rubber bands or do you tie all the flash and then attach the legs?
My grandfather who taught me to tie used to say… “The mark of a good tyer is that nobody can see how he did it…”. In otherwords you should always cover your tracks and make the tie as clean as possible. To go back after wraping in all the flash would really mess up the body of the fly and truthfully would be a pain in the ass… So i usually tie in two sections of body then put legs between them, then proceed… It just comes out alot cleaner that way.

That was my thinking. I have been tying them that way for a little while now with great success. I would NEVER do anything using that school as inspiration.
Toothless ties an all purple crab copperhead that looks really cool too.
