caught 4 today. one broke the line. only two were keepers. also two nice largemouth hit the ice fly. i know they get caught on other lures as well, but that ice fly will catch just about anything. the 25" i caught was right up against the bank across from blacks. the birds worked good and hard for us today! thank god for seagulls!
where are you buying your "ice fly’s " …I have never seen one (are you casting it with a fly rod?)…also …nice report …If I get out this weekend I’ll return some info
the only place i have seen the ice fly is at dooley’s on 378 where it splits from hwy 1. across from the His House. the have a couple different “flavors” but i stick with the white with red string. the have two different sizes also. if you get the smaller size you will probably just catch more perch right now. tie the ice fly to a 12-14" leader on a barrel swivel then put the end of your line through the other side of the swivel and tie on a bucktail. the ice fly kinda chases the bucktail. you can also use the tri-swivel as well. and it doesn’t get tangled up that often either. i use regular largemouth gear with 20lb spider wire. retrieve slowly. let me know how it works.
thanks for the info … I’ll post a report
i bought some at lake world, never did figure out how to catch fish on them.
