Nope, we don’t dive around here all that much, and that needs to change! Just purchased new tank holders that need to be installed! So many things to do and so little time to do 'em all!

I don’t think you guys should get into diving… It’s way too dangerous… And there is really nothing to see around here… The water is really murky and full of large tiger sharks that would love nothing more than to eat you feet first and crap your face out whole… Also, we lost a handful of divers last year due to the infestation of saltwater crocodiles at our nearshore reefs. Pesky little bastards… I think that land is a much safer place… Maybe you should consider staying there instead…

Phin, are you sure you want to do this? Your fishfinder has been running around behind your back and telling you lies for years. Are you ready to bring that kind of honesty and openness in your relationship? It’s a whole new level of intimacy…

All b.s aside what is the shark risk off our coast? I can only recall a few surf attacks by some smaller sharks over the years… I would think that the exploring and picture taking part would be a snap, but jabbing a few fish and having a stringer of chum to take to the surface seems a bit risky. ???

Like anywhere else there’s always a risk of sharks , cudas , and a number of other 100 s of other things that are a danger . It’s what your comfort level is .

These were found at the 11 Mile Tug off Murrells Inlet. Absolutely beautiful creatures.

just another beautiful day in paradise…

This isn't a serious comment, right? It's what you need to do if something goes wrong. Don't ever skip on the certification and training process...especially if your life depends on it.

Good catch… She IS pissed!!! Sandy’s are not the worst, even mad ones like the pic above. I had a “blink of an eye” encounter with either a Mako or GW a few years back that gave me a new sense of respect for how quick they can be.

The big old sharks are not always the ones to worry about. It’s the 3-4 footers that like to sniff around where they don’t belong. Adolescents!!! Young, dumb, and not smart enough to stay away…

Bull sharks in mid-water bother me the most.

True… Have not bumped into one of them yet. They are usually on the bottom at maximum range, moving away. I won’t shoot fish if I can see them around. Same with hammer heads… Vic has a good story of a hammer head encounter. We may still dive, but won’t take the guns with us!

It’s really a matter of understanding our interaction with mother-nature. It’s not just knowing what may be out there, but knowing what NOT to do, to make it worse. Even that pissed-off big female sand tiger wouldn’t be much of a threat to humans, unless you do something stupid around her.

Then today… More on Bull Sharks: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3756527/Bride-sees-shark-eat-groom-in-Seychelles.html
