Ah, I see. You must know LOTS of marine biologists, because according to your first paragraph, the local ones you know are atypical.

So you know Amy and Wiggers and Martore and Mel and longbeard, all former or present biologists and you praise them all, so how many other ones do you know that are “typical” as you describe?

Are you in a marine biologist club with really open-minded local members but a bunch of federal biologist that make them all “typical” in the end?
