I agree Skinnee, what’s reported usually aren’t lies. They’re part of a story that’s being told well.
I know a few here do tell outright lies. Interestingly, they are not the ones who get called out and told to “tighten up,” are they?

I mean there was a certain report http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=108768 about someone’s state record snowy being crushed only like a week later. That report’s falsehood was never owned up to or called out by anyone at all.
Heck, the Trident tournament even called our state record snowy a warsaw grouper somehow by the time everything was over with for all that. The ficticious post may have gotten more attention than the actual record post http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=108376 when it was all said and done. Not many people even know that the state record snowy was caught just before snowies were shut down even with a real record report and a fake record report.
It’s the internet. Anything can “happen” even with pics, video and witness “verification.” May actually be healthy for us to remember that even the believable we see or read probably should be doubted first and trusted second. The fake snowy record report wasn’t called out or removed. Why should a guy reporting what he perceived and telling a good story be heckled here?
A 30lb hogfish report would be fun as well. I would play along.

Besides its payback for all the crap i took about overestimateing the size of the grouper i caught a couple of weeks ago.

If nobody said nothing this would be a boring site indeed and most would move on. The ones with thin skin quit posting it is what it is, but between it all is some very good information. Sometimes the hijacked post get more interesting than the original , again good on ya for the fish and a safe enjoyable trip.
