sorry, i was thinking of academy sports…ive been in the west marine in columbia and seen the simrads there.
The guy at west marine’s name is George, and he is a major simrad fan. They have simrad on display and he’s really good with them. If you want to buy something, he can bundle all the odds and ends and weird cables you need. That dude knows way more about marine electronics than we care to know

I wish they sold analog to NMEA 2000 converters. that would make a nice package.
I like the Furuno gp32 gps for the old guys you can get dead on the old loran spots if you need a map Garmin is good Furuno bottom machines are the best. We do alot of fishing 600 ft. plus will show stuff 1200ft. with no guessing whats there.
Don’t care what unit you get but get it with the biggest screen you can afford!

My first choice in sounders will always be for Furuno. Look at what you see on the helm of every commercial boat… Furuno!
I agree with Sellsfish on that. I always ran Furuno sounders on my charter boats. The boat I fish now has a fantastic 13" Humminbird GPS and plotter, with side scan, but when fishing we usually use the old Furuno for bottom finding and the Humminbird for plotting only.
