I had the same situation years ago. difference was he was white. I had the same feeling.
It is very un-nerving thinking someone is on your land. I was hunting alone 1 hour from my house.
brickyard, why bring race into this while dismissing the trespassing. dismissing how scary of a situation this could turn into.
And if his dogs lost, he crossed a property line trying to feed his family, whatever other excuse you used, it really doesnt matter. Trespassing is trespassing, fella could trip over a root and get hurt then sue you. Aint nobody got time for that.
sorry but is he up to no good because he is black and has dreads? ive grown up hunting and fishing with many guys that look just like him. im not saying trespassing is good by any means, but i think it is a little ridiculous that every thinks hes growing pot or up to good, and surprised he didnt steal the camera. could be trying to feed his family and doesnt realize he crossed the property line, or looking for a run away dog. just my two cents
Lighten up dude, we’re having some fun and also the guy trespassing shouldn’t be breaking the law. No matter race or gender. well maybe gender if she was getting in touch with nature and flashing the camera.
Speaking of having fun…anyone else see the laying down pigmy deer/wolf that he is about to step on or kick? If not, I’m staying out of the woods for awhile.
The “pigmy deer” is a mineral block. That’s what the dude is looking at. The next pic we got was hilarious…he saw the camera and put all the pieces together in his brain exactly when it was taking his picture. The expression on his face is priceless. If you’re old enough and remember The Little Rascals it’s like Buckwheat when he got scared or surprised. I think that’s the one we’ll present in court when we catch him if he does not heed the first discussion/warning we give him.

If he was just taking a short cut to get from one property to another, it’d be hard to press trespassing charges…unless he entered the property with intent to do damage.
raditionally, for either type of trespass, some level of intent is required. Thus, the trespasser must not simply unwittingly traverse another’s land but must knowingly go onto the property without permission. Knowledge may be inferred when the owner tells the trespasser not to go on the land, when the land is fenced, or when a “no trespassing” sign in posted. A trespasser would probably not be prosecuted if the land was open, the trespasser’s conduct did not substantially interfere with the owner’s use of the property, and the trespasser left immediately on request.

If the camera had sound, after the 2nd picture you might have heard him say, Feet Don’t Fail Me Now! Don’t know how old you are, but that is a line from an old movie! Was the the guy looking to see what ya’ll, were up to, back in the woods? He looks kind of young?
Just looked that line up! It was from a 1940, Bob Hope movie, Ghost Breakers!
This is a fairly large plot of family owned land that has been in this particular family for a long, long time. The surrounding roads are named after the great grandfathers which were founding members of the community. We haven’t noticed any damage nor have we found any evidence of ill will or wrong doing. My concern at this point is it is hunting season and we are out there with rifles. If we don’t know you’re there and you don’t know where we are then “if anyone is down range at this time please let it be known by sight or sound”. Last thing we need is a wrong place at the wrong time scenario. not to mention all of the scent, sight and sound control we practice in an effort to not push the deer. Then this cat is strolling through in street clothes. it is a bit frustrating.

I assume if someone is on my property he intends to do me harm. I’ve had 2 ATV’s, 1 Argo, 1 tiller, chainsaw, treestands, power srayer, and at least 10 cameras stolen.
God help the person I encounter on my land.
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

Don’t shoot him until he puts stuff in his pockets and turns to walk away with them.
