I spend a lot of time sneaking up on fish in really shallow water and use a minn kota manual tiller. I have fished with friends that have auto and i-pilot TMs and found that sometimes the noise the steering motor makes spooks the fish. Really nice to have though when fishing docks.
My nephew has, I guess a co-pilot,runs it off a remote on his wrist or belt, neat deal. His is a minn-kota, do they make a remote that you can work with your foot? I’ll be up grading from a cable run foot control but don’t want one that ties my hands up even it can go back to a designated spot.May be a dumb question, but can a person block the signal from the control to motor. Thanks
You can’t catch fish on a dry line
I have a remote foot control with my copilot. You can use them at the same time. Find it easier to steer with wrist control until I catch one. Then I just use foot control until the fish is landed.
Don’t have a knack for makin motors crank,
But I’m pretty good at drinkin beer
