Where are you located? I’ve got a couple different solid shank anchors that i switch in and out of my boat depending on what i’m planning for the day. I’ve got an 8 lb you can try for a weekend if you’d like.

I’m on James Island. That would be great. I’m going to try and go out one evening this coming week.

8# solid shank with 6’+/- chain will stick and hold your boat just fine.
-8# is rated to hold up to 23’+/-

Never have any problem anchoring, but every piece of galvanized chain I buy ends up rusting after about 2 yrs, seems like the last 2 times I bought it was from Lowe’s. Do they make better grades of galvanized(zinc)? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

Sea Claw about $90 no chain needed.

You can always go big bucks and buy stainless chain.

There’s about 7-10 feet of stainless chain attached to a danforth anchor out at the grillage…I know because I left it there a few years ago.
