Trout Challenge

Challenge accepted…I’m going Sun and wends if at all possible! Slow and steady in the deep pockets it is, may also try for some fatty spottails near some docks too!

“you win some, you lose some…but nothing beats getting some!”

Saturday afternoon is looking a little better in the forecast today.

I hope the wind isn’t too bad on Sunday.

Caught two off the dock on grubs. As cold as it got I would think we lost a few.

Awesome… I’m hoping to get out Sunday and maybe scare a few up. If I do I will post some pics

Great news. I’m going out too guys, and maybe I will get a few bites. Can someone point me in the right direction? Grub color? Not looking for specifics, just some pointers!

Went Friday, 1/31 and Sat 2/1 for a total of about 6 hours around Hilton Head. ZERO BITES. That led to 20 beers. Going out Sunday. Full report.

Did a quick Trout scouting trip late this afternoon. Water was clear and 51 to 52 degrees. The shallow bite was surprisingly good. Released several fish in the 12-15 inch range using Z-Man MinnowZ Bad Shad on 1/4 ounce jig. Very encouraging.

Caught just one today at 13" but heard of at least 8 more caught by people I know or other boats I chatted with today. Good news!

Caught a dozen or so trout today in less than an hour, they were pretty aggressive and shallower than expected.

That’s great news. Were they on the main water or up in creeks?

Good to hear. I plan to throw artificials at them from a kayak on Saturday unless weather clears for me to take my boat out

Today I saw one while poling around on a back creek off Cherry Point today. Also saw a random flounder.
