They may be nicer and fancier now but they sure don’t make them like they used to. Atleast you could fix something if it broke back then.

Ok that I can agree with. Not much the home mechanic can do without proper diagnostic Equipment and some decent knowledge on the newer vehicles.

The one thing that we both have to admit is the mileage modern vehicles are getting now. When I was younger You seldom saw a vehicle over 80,000 that was not in need of an engine overhaul or already had one. But no doubt, they were and are much easier to work on. It’s not uncommon to see many getting over 200K with very little going wrong.

Everything man makes is subject to breaking… Had New Cat 992 Wheel loader with a c32 fail with only 200 hours. That’s a $200,000 thousand dollar engine.

New 992K is roughly 2.2million.

Can state a few more of those issues… Cat had a big layoff a few years back. Biggest problem was they let the employees know they were being laid off but still worked them a month or two… Terrible issues from that.

When I was running my busness I ran lots of trucks, one of the best was an International single axle dump with a DT 466 turbo disel with 550,000 mi and a Issiu 14’ box truck with 400,000 keep oil changed ad keep on going. I think any truck that has been well maintained and driven reguraly will last a long time. Don’t worry about the body work as long as all the lights are in working order!Had great luck with the 3500 duramax work truck. Still have one I pull my Bertram and backhoe with, need injector work but still runs like a scalded dog

Idreatherbefishing, I have a white 2013 tundra SR5 that I must sell before the end of this year if you are interested. It is a double cab with 82,000 miles. In addition to the standard SR5 package it is equipped with factory tint, factory sprayed in bedliner, factory installed back up camera, N-Fab Nerf Bars, Cooper ST Max 295 all terrain tires (tons of life left) mounted on Rock Star Rims, cargo rail system, 3x2 leveling kit. It has had weather tech floor mats on the floor and neoprene seat covers on the seats from day one so the interior is immaculate. It has plenty a room for a growing family, I currently have three car seats stretched across the backseat for my children. I have dealer service records for every 5,000 mile check up in hand. Looking to sell for $20K or best offer. I would drive it for another 200,000 if my company would allow me to but I’m required to purchase a new vehicle every four years for a reimbursement. I will be definitely be purchasing another Tundra. Tim 843-345-FISH is the best way to reach me.

Always remember that you can look at a lease depending on your financial circumstances. Typically you will save $100+/mo on a lease. That being said, you have to understand leases a bit better to get a “good deal” as the numbers are not as transparent.

In my case, I trade in every 3 years and put little mileage on, so I am comfortable in a lease.

To each his own though.

Yeah, mine too. I bought back in Nov and liked the Tundra a lot, but I drive 100mi a day. 13-15 over a year adds up.

I look at it as reducing the need for freon.
