Watercraft License

I’ve got a daughter in private school!! So don’t play that game with me!! Horse Riders, Hiker’s, Bird Watchers, etc. should not benefit, from the sportsmans license,(TAX) being forced upon us, unless they’re willing to help out!! Now Go Lay in the Driveway!! Seeya, Scott

You know I never hated school, it was just the principal of it!

To rough, are you a “citizen” of the “U.S.A.”?

You know I never hated school, it was just the principal of it!

I like the idea of education
kind of like the hunters education that came out a while back
starting on date “X” anyone that registers a boat, and didnt have one previously registered, must take and pass the course before being allowed to register the boat.
it wont help with all the current crazy’s, but it will help with any new ones.

I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com

Very much a citizen one that is tired of being told what I need for this and that. ONE that has retired from TWENTY YEARS AND TWO MONTHS of military service THANK YOU. I have taken and passed more navigational test then you can imagine. One that has piloted vessels pretty much around the world.

I just feel stupid is as stupids does and no license will fix that.

What the H$ll does your duaghter in private school have anything to do with it. I was stating that plenty of people have no kids but are taxed for schools. YOU made the statement “In the meantime, recreational boaters pay nothing for using the same lakes, boat ramps, and priveledges, that we pay for!!” If you can read I stated that these people also pay property tax and registration fees for these services.

Education yes, licenseing for your recreational boater NO.

Hikers and such maybe should not benefit but they DO!!!

Then you yourself stated “All in favor of legislation” then you stated “(TAX) being forced upon us” So Sir or Mam did you vote Obama 08. For you sure are shoveling it both ways.

To rough, do you or your children or grandchildren like being run over by idiots who don’t know what they are doing on the water? They bought a watercraft and have no idea what they are doing. I’ve seen it too many times, and often have to go tow them in because they are idiots. Watched a guy today leave the marina on the water today with a boat that had teeth broken in the steering and could only steer left. Against my advice, he left the marina and I’m still waiting on a call to rescue him. His excuse was that he had driven all the way down from Columbia and was going out on his boat.

By the way, my other business is Edisto Towing, and I do Edisto sea rescue. I’m the guy that gets the 911 calls.

To rough, first of all, thank you for your service to our country!! Secondly my stating that my daughter is in “Private” school, simply means I’m paying twice, if not more! Thirdly property taxes go to the county where registered, registration fees are a mere pittance. Lastly, I’m no fan of new legislation, with that being said, If all boaters paid their fair share, the bill wouldn’t be solely on the sportsman!! Meaning the Hunters, and Fishermen, of our state, shouldn’t have to foot the bill, for all the other folks using these facilities. I’ll refrain from replying to you on the vote ? 'cause I would probably just piss you off!! No, I Will, I voted for a Democrat, John Mcain. Sorry it took me so long to reply! Seeya, Scott

I have to ask: How do y’all feel about young boaters being required to pass a boater’s safety course to legally operate a watercraft?
The need has been identified to educate the novice, why should age matter.

If the safety course has rules keeping PWCs, at least 10,000 yards away from any moving or docked watercraft I’m all for it! Another part of the course should involve teaching yo-yo’s how to back down a ramp, unload the boat, and get out of the way!!

I think it’s a good idea. All funds should go to the SCDNR, since the majority of the enforcement duties would fall on them.

“Never argue with an idiot…he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.”

“Ya can’t fix stupid!” and “Rules are for people without enough integrity to make the right decision” are two things that come to mind on this topic.
