A Honda 225 on the back of an Everglades 223. Wanted to more comfortably venture to closer reefs (than my McKee Craft 185 allowed) to troll and bottom fish some. Spent the last 3 years inshore and to Low Country Anglers.
We’ll see about the Honda, last 4 outboards have been 2S and 4S yamahas and had no complaints.
Oh yeah, 2006 McKee Craft BayClassic with Yam 115 for sale- see classifieds.

that’s going to be one sweet ride. It doesn’t appear to be a weight difference between the Honda and the Yamaha (225 hp that is).

Dont own one but know lots of people that do and they love them but most say the same thing and that is that they wish honda would spend a little more time on corrosion resistance in salt water for the outside of the motors. No real problems with inside of motor just outside appearance!
Raggedy Azz 17ft Boat With A Blowed Up Motor But Still Wining Money!!!
I own two Hondas, a 50 and a 90; both are over 10years old and have had zero problems with either one. I have accidentally restarted the 50 on my pontoon when other boats were around, thinking it was not already on— only to hear the flywheel whine! Great motors.
Allen Lynch, i have to look down at my tach to make sure my engine turned over if i have my radio on even its lowest volume. I really have enjoyed my honda

Are you serious? Ask Chris how many Yamahas he works on. Why do you think the USCG is taking all of the Yamahas off of their boats and replacing them with Hondas?
Nothing but a “SMART-ELLIC”!
the reason the coast guard is buying Honda??? easy… low bidder!!

You need to get your facts straight. I was in the Coast Guard and I can assure you that is not the case. Hondas are reliable and pretty much maintenance free.

I’ll toss in my first outboard- an ESKA</font id=“blue”>. Anyone else own one of those? I think it was a 1972.
quote:Yeah, I had an ESKA and two Scott-Atwaters.

My first jon boat had a Wizard on it.

The ESKA was 4 hp, and on the back of a Sears 10’ jonboat. Ran from 1972-1974, then upgraded to Merc 5 hp. At least it wasn’t a Seagull!
Most people look for several dealers in the area so they have options for service. All it takes is one bad employee to ruin your dealer experience.
Boatless and looking for the next one!
Although you may never need it, I’ve heard a Honda block can’t be rebuilt. No parts are available? Is this true?
Although we are not a Honda dealer yet, I can’t imagine that they would’nt offer replacement parts to rebuild an engine.
