oh brother does that ever explain a lot, coming from 2 professional BS spreaders

I’m with the “one that got away” crowd. I will say that one time I was fishing off a dock in the upper Wando River when a stingray as big as a beach umbrella swam underneath in about 3 feet of water. Between seeing 10 foot gators, that stingray, and some gar fish over 4 feet long in that river I could never consider going skiing or wake boarding like I see all the teenagers doing. There are some big critters in that murky water.

I had something similar happen to me last week behind sullivans in hamlin creek. I have a 60lb steel leader and 50 lb braid line on my penn fierce 6000 combo baited with a live 6 inch pin fish on the bottom. Something hit really hard an started running. Before I knew it I had my drag maxed and it was out over a hundred yards. It kept pulling and broke my line where it met the steel leader. I’m assuming it was a nice shark.

This forum needs a slang dictionary. I had to explain to my wife why I was googling the word poon.

My wife has been around me long enough to know the difference between a poon and poontang

I have never had a poon to get away. Have always caught every one that got on my hook. As far as poontang…They have been getting away ever since I knew what poontang was!!!
