I had some fresh steaks friday night. Not as good as mahi mahi or wahoo but not bad at all.

the fresher the better for kingfish. Also, the smaller fish tend to taste better and have less mercury content.

Try poor mans lobster with the kings
Just get a good pot of boiling water loaded with Ole Bay Seasoning
cut the king into chunks
drop in the boil till the chunks float
NOT BAD, for a kingfish

Hot frying pan with olive oil fresh rosemary fresh diced garlic, fresh lemon basil and butter. Make you want to slap somebody. Had some the other night. Everybody was fighting to see who could get to the plate for the next piece.

this is very true, but have you ever eaten one, i have always heard they weren’t good. With gas as expensive as it is i like to make the trip as productive as possible, aka bring home alot of meat fish, if you know what i mean
“Can you swim 5 miles, “No”, Than what is the difference in 5 miles and 50 miles”
I think he means Cuda.

Go to the tackle shop and buy a bunch of Mann’s Stretch25+'s or Stretch30+'s. Rig them with 3-4 foot long single strand cable to keep the kings from cutting them off, and troll them behind the boat at 6-8mph.
Tried this yesterday and had some luck hooking the fish. I just didn’t get them in the boat. I had some terminal tackle problems. One i didn’t crimp well enough and the other just broke the line after running off about 150 yards. I was trolling around the nearshore.
Back to the tackle store for some higher test and some more stretch’s. Thanks for the tip.

We had luck on big spoons and #2 planers last weekend but we were in deeper water. If I were trolling the shipping channel I would use #1 planers and the 4 1/2 spoons. The blue and red spoons were the only ones to get hits. Baly’s and skirts did not produce anything for us. We will probably be trying some balloon rigs this weekend.

Excuse my ignorance but what are the Mann’s Stretches 25 and 30’s?
