2 stroke Yamaha 90 '02 model. Are they good motors. The motors seems to be pretty well taken of. Anybody have any insight on them. This would be my 1st Yammy so trying to do some research. Thanks an advance for any help.
These are the lightest 90’s on the market, and sought after by many flats boat enthusiasts.
Cons: Generally a little less punch than other 90s with more displacement, old 2 stroke, carbed technology. Charging system not as robust as some.
Pros: good fuel economy for a conventional 2-stroke. Considered very, very reliable when maintained, and fairly easy to work on/troubleshoot. This motor was on my short list for a recent repower.
