Decided on Monday to make a run to the ledge in search of the elusive (to us) grouper and hopefully fill up the box to get rid of the fishing itch. Can’t wait for the mightymicrominicoreyslingermahi to show their pretty yellow and blue faces. Ocean was flat calm georgous all day with not even a breath of wind. If there ever was a day to buddy boat up on the ledge, yesterday was it. Saw lots of boats out and about bottom bumping and even a few fast trolling for hoos. While the fish kill for the day was, lets just say less than epic, we had probably the best time in a long time out there. Pretty much had constant action all day with the smaller fish, and even had times of lots of action. I missed several grouper bites that a seasoned pro would have harvested. One rocked up and ended up breaking off and the other I pulled out of his mouth. Rookie move. The guys had a fantastic time and had me rolling LOLing all over myself all day long. We even came up with some new nicknames that won’t be divulged here.

Cold, cold start to the morning…
Leaving the jetties to an incredible sunrise
Ran into a few celebrites on the ledge…
Of course the camera doesn’t do it justice, but the blues and purple on this guy were really lit up when he came on board.
Brett’s first ever trigger and first ever grouper…■■■■ I wish I was that lucky.
those screen shots go to show that the fish were there! I can’t remeber the last time I saw 58 degrees at SWB. Two weeks ago we had 70, and the fish were chewing.

Because I don’t tune it. I keep it on auto 95% of the time. Yes, I know you say you can see stuff that I can’t, but I don’t care that much. I have played with settings before and adjusted the gain, but for the most part, I don’t see the advantage that you do. Maybe you can give me a lesson offshore one day. I can tell what species are down there from past experience and what I’m currently catching. But then again, I don’t catch the snapper like you do either. So maybe there’s something to what you’re saying.

If you would answer the calls when your phone and email are being blown up for a week straight, you’d get a free trip and free lesson. It will be a while now though.
I have a bote. It’ll be my treat…wait, you still owe me a trip, don’t you? From our little wager… Anytime you wanna go, call me and we’ll go out there, I’ll even let you delete your numbers after the fact.
