03-30-09 Late start

We wanted to take advantage of the window of good weather on Monday, but everyone had to work. We finally pulled it together and left the dock around 3:00 PM. We headed to 100 ft of water. The forecast was just about right. Lines in by 5:00, we wanted to start with jigs before we dropped any bait. Marsh Monkey was the first to hook up, but it wasnt long before we were all catching all of the usual suspects on jigs, includeing two nice slot sized ARS, triggers, and sea bass. The third ARS was caught on cut bait. No Grouper and the current picked up to where we had trouble keeping bait down with 16 OZ. Decided to call it a night and were home by 12:00.

Nice catch there. Just got my first 2 Katana 6 oz vertical jigs in the mail today. Took recommendation of Jim at Eastern Tackle to get the Pig Roast and Pot Roast colors. Can’t wait to try them this weekend!

Edit: How deep were you fishing?

Enjoy it while it lasts. I wish that the naysayers of the SAFMC were smart enough to realize that you guys have caught red snapper just about every time you have gone out. Either you guys are REALLY lucky and need to start looking for sasquatch, or maybe there are actually a few of them left out there.

They will make filet and releasers out of all of us before its over.

Thanks for the ride Reg and Ted. It was great being out there again. Looking forward to the next trip. Oh by the way, do you guys care to explain this picture?
