Left the dock about 530. too choppy to go deep so went out to will goldfinch. Went 1 for 4 on the kings. the three that didn’t make it to the fish box were 10-20 lbs. Nothing great. Got a little rough so we headed for 10 mile about 12. calmer seas but no fish. water temp at will 69. 10 mile 70. Jigged a couple manhaded @ 10 mile (sabiki). I just heard from a friend that after I left some jack a$$ in a large boat went flying by a small 15’ boat and threw the 2 guys from the boat:angry:. DNR and coast guard were called to the scene. another boater got the guys out of the water but their boat was driving itself in circles just outside of the jetties[:0][:0]. Coastguard threw rope out and got it around the prop to stall out the motor. In all of the craziness, the jerks in the other boat got away. I don’t know if they even dnew what they did. Rules are rules. you are responsible for your own wake. Some people (not anyone on here of course) think that if they have a big fancy boat that they can do what ever they want. Just remember, just like your fat wallet bought that fancy boat, it can also pay your hospital bill when the guy in the smaller boat catches up to you at the dock:imp:. We all have a right to fish without worrying about capsizing because of some rich kids big fancy boat that his daddy bought him. Hope everyone made it back and with fish today
after an entire paragraph of his, talking more about idiots swamping boats, etc…all’s you could do is point out species jigged?? and for future reference…it’s reference…how come we dont have that “roll eyes smilie”?
Sniper, I am from SC and have always been more than polite to smaller vessels. The reality is that, if you are in open water IE. harbor, then you should expect to have things like that happen to you. If I am incorrect about their location, I stand corrected. These days, 1000% more people are taking what I consider to be small boats out to “deep” water. I have a small boat myself. I also have a larger boat and years ago I ran large boats. South Carolinians are pretty nice as far as I can tell; it was probably someone from NJ or NY? However, unless you are in a “creek”, don’t expect anyone to slow down for you. Justice (Seal Team 6 1987 to 1990)

Justice,
You are 100% correct. But…
I also operate a larger vessel, and I make it a practice never to do so in a manner that will jeopardize the safety of a smaller boat, even if I have a right to run at wake speed. Anyone who passes so closely to a boat that their wake cause damages or bodily injury can be held responsible, regardless of the rules of the road.
That said, they must have been snowbirds, 'cause anyone from SC would have stopped and helped them out.
Anyway, it’s good that no one was injured and made it back to shore safely.
“Never argue with an idiot…he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.”
It happened in MI inside the jetties. It was a 20ft Key West had nothing to do with the wake off the parasail boat. Boat went around in circles for two hours. Everyone was picked up and no one was hurt.
Dont point the finger until you know the truth Sniper.
If you want to pass blame put it on someone that doesnt know ■■■■■ about running a boat coming into the inlet when the current is screaming out and trying to fall out and pass another boat!
Hello Justice, I was AF 87-90 here in Charleston coordinated the Communications on the Alert birds and carried ST-6 wherever they wanted to go, including Australia. Welcome to the website, Batman.
Muledriver—ease up! Just reporting what I heard Sat afternoon. I have heard 2 other stories since my post. The other 2 said larger boat was not at fault. I don’t point fingers just report what I hear. No Harm No Foul:sunglasses:
