05/31/15 First Wahoo

Left the Stono Inlet at 6:00am.Ocean was better than expected. Found scattered weeds at 120’130’.Pushed on to 500 to 600’.Found scattered weeds. Started trolling and picked up a slinger. Nothing else for a hour. Picked up and headed SW and found some more weeds. Picked up 4 gaffers in 1 hour.Had a double hook up, set my rod down to gaff wifes dolphin.Went to reel my fish in and he spit the hook,I grabbed the popper and he went after it and I hooked him. He got off. Threw the popper again he took it again! He was hooked good this time. Took ten minutes to get him in. Nice 25 pounder. Wife and I took a short break after the fire drill. Started again nothing else until 30 minutes later the line starts screeming. Wife grabs reel and says its big! After a good fight she lands her first wahooooo.30 pounder. Fished two lines all day. Great day on the Freeman 29’(EXCEPTION}.

Ain’t it great when the wife loves fishing too!!

Great job!! I saw you topping off at St. John’s yesterday. That’s a great looking boat you have!!

Nice job on the hoo. We had one pull the hook Sunday but at lest we got to see it come out of the water on the flat line.

Lots of jealous guys reading this report…Best trips I ever had were when my better half was on board…
Good job.

That’s a good day right there sir.
I’m slowly working my wife a little farther each year. I finally got her out to 100’ and she loaded the box with the biggest BSB she’s ever caught, added in a few triggers and now she’s ready to hit 100’ again. Just gonna take time to get her to the ledge and beyond.

Nice boat BTW

Jealous of your setup.

You guys look like you’re getting good and ready to drag more baits.

Let me know when you’re ready for some outriggers for that nice ride.
