Headed out still after hearing it was going to be slow.

Ride out past the jettys was decent and then nice after 60’. Lines in the water by 7:30 in 110’ and trolling ballyhoo towards Edisto Banks. Water temp was 80 degrees everywhere it seemed.

Sparse weeds. Lots of flyers.

Had something kill the planer with black and red but he shook it and we never got to see it. Surely a cuda … I suppose.

LOTS of short strikes. Saw a dolphin tear through the spread but just wouldn’t TAKE IT.

Saw another decent dolphin sky near the boat about 2 feet behind a flyer. That was pretty cool … I guess.

Hit Edisto Banks and there were 4 or 5 other boats out there and kept going to about 200 feet and turned back around and trolled home.

What little chatter we heard was much of the same.

We headed back in at 12:00 noon as planned with no fish.

Had a great time with the crew but I wanted to put them on the fish.

The boat was awesome and anytime you go out and have a good time and make it home safely its supposed to be great.

Still sucked bigtime.

I’m not too proud to admit it.

We fished north of you, don’t feel bad, we didn’t put the first fish in the boat until after 1 pm. Fished till 3 and ended with 3 fish. Around 12:30 I was thinking we were going home skunked too.

Makes me feel only slightly better. I would have stayed out longer but I had a crew member who needed to get to Columbia. So I did not give it my best shot, at least that is what I am telling myself.

Hard to believe the bite died this quick when 3 weeks ago we almost ran out of ballyhoo by 10am.

I don’t feel quit so bad, we did manage a small blue marlin and a 120 pound bull shark. Trolled from 110 ft to 1400 ft.

I will join the pitty party, S/W banks 2 gaffers and 1 Bfin, pulled off a hoo, went to bottom fishing with no live bait :angry::angry::angry:, so worked on the Bsbs , Pinks and Triggers, pretty day though.

Btw that was Tues fishing.

listened to the fleet fishing offshore of us yesterday, sounded like the bonitas were the catch of the day! We boxed 11 dolphin on the ledge with drift rigs.
