Fished both tides Saturday. Very good clarity if you could find a spot out of the wind. Found a group of top slot to 30" reds in 2-3ft of water.
Never really spooked them off but had a hard time getting them to eat in the cold water. Threw minnows at them, shrimp and 6 or 7 different artificials.
The school stayed in the shallows along the bank and between the oysters and most of the day, frustrating watching them but not getting much action out of them.
While I was boumncing baits off theyre heads I did manage 8 nice 28" to 32" reds from under the dock next to them in 6-7ft of water.
Fish were there all day but the bite wasnt. At least not in comparision to the number of fish I saw throughout the day.
The big reds were eating fresh shrimp with a shot of Pro Cure on them and a couple small ones I caught with the new Zman Dark jig with a minnow attached.

Always fun to learn from watching them though.

Still looks like a nice day!

I too have been all over several schools in the shallows the past few weeks and can’t get them to eat for the most part. It’s amazing how you change spots close to the one that weren’t and you find some that are.

Putting Pro Cure on fresh shrimp ? Hardcore!

You have to be on them before you can catch them which you were. Sounds like typical winter behavior, but you had a great day IMO. Why did you reverse the skirt on the Z-Man jig?

I don’t think he did. See FlatZ jig.

Great fish and great report!

You are correct. Haven’t seen those yet. The skirt is upside down as compared to bass jigs. I don’t know the purpose other than limiting lift of the jig.
