Didnt get fishing till probably around 2 or so. Fished with the youngin , seth and his b in law on the lower end. Killed them there last Feb, so figured we would avoid all the traffic up top. Not to mention the drive up so late in the afternoon.
Covered a very large area just looking. Probably could have caught some more if we had circled back on some areas but just kept moving. Caught some 12" fish that decided to ambush us all at once and a really nice fish Bubba pulled in.
Beautiful afternoon with good company. Ride in was kinda weird with all the warm/cold air pockets we would go in and out of…
Lol…i guess i could have been a little clearer. Yes we pulled weightless boards and floats as well as a couple lines with 1/4oz on them. The little action we did see was on the weightless lines.
Side note my very first nightmare of a trip with planers a few yrs back i tried to pull 2oz of lead on a waterbug. Lol…that didnt work. All i was told is you can rig them like a DR with or w/o the lead… they just didnt say how much lead
Lol. Not taken the wrong way. Man i pull them out of the baggy at least once a week andlook at them. Every time i make plans to do it, something comes up. Or i am fishing with people that want to fish bait (and thats hard to pass up). Hard to break out of the norm. But have monday off and takin the youngin again. So the plan is to throw some then. If your talking about up lake where u have been, i dont know. Been dying to go and fish up there but just havent had the time. I am planning on starting a little above there Saturday morning and make my way down the creek… lol…thats if i will fit and can get turned around. Fish are back to being caught in a couple ft of water so i am planning on some being there… Only fished bottom lake because it was so late in the afternoon and seth lives 5min from the dam.

I was going to go up there on Saturday night but I chickened out. It was way too dark and my 2’ contours on the gps disappeared about 1/2 mile before there. It was a very dark night, might have to check it in the day first.
Seriously, I have caught fish on unweighted lines behind planers over water that deep. … Anyway, nice fish!!
