First trip of the year, went out at the start of outgoing. First couple of spots nothing, went back to an area I had caught some trout at this time last year. No trout but 7 nice reds. All but one caught on Vudu shrimp, either under a cork or bumping along the bottom.
Caught them where a small creeklet was flowing out into the waterway, let the shrimp go out with the flow. Caught all the fish in an hour or so.
Nice as ice
sounds like a good spot. Thanks for report

I’ve wondered about those Vudu Shrimp. Had you had luck with those before?

Hey Roper,
Yes, i started using them last year and in the last couple of months I seem to be catching quite a lot on them. Of course, you never know if you had a different type of bait on if you still would have caught a fish, but i have a lot of confidence when using them, which for me is key.
The other thing I do now is get into a position where the current is doing the work on the shrimp, so either casting upstream and letting it bounce back to me, or across a creek, letting the flow work it. will open the bail arm and try and let it bounce naturally by letting line out if needed.
Cheers

Good to know - thank you! I’ve wanted to try them out but it’s hard to swallow roughly 10-12 bucks for a pair of soft plastics (if I am remembering that correctly) when you, personally, haven’t really seen much about them in the way of results.
