The Miss Amanda’s own, Lynn and Rookie Fly Fisher, and I fished this morning at various nearshore reefs ranging from 30’-60’. The water temp was 55-58. Slick ocean all day. I’ll just pause the report here and say to wait a few more weeks as the endangered black sea bass are so thick that nothing makes it to the bottom. Now, if you are lucky enough to get a few seconds of soak time, there are some sheeps, black drum, and spottails there to tug on your line as we did experience today. In my opinion though, it’s just too much trouble to fish for the sheeps right now with all the jumbo seabass lurking at public reefs. That’s all, gotta go cause I’m sick to my stomach from throwing back a few hundred 3# sea bass…!

yep,. its sickening. We tried last week and couldnt get a bait to the bottome either. Caught about 200 seabass, and some very nice sized ones!!! they were even eating the lead sinkers as we were bringing them up. with $35 of fiddler crabs we only managed 2 sheepshead.
Unfortunately, that will be my last sheepshead trip this year, as there isnt worht the time and money to catch and release seabass all day long
We went on the 16th and barely caught any seabass. We got around 20 keeper sheeps. Hopefully all the seabass got sore lips from you guys haha. Were gonna try it Sunday.
Its heartbreaking when you head out for Sheaps and cant past the BSB. The only good thing is the BSB should be making a comeback. Well according to the federal government, yep the same government who is saying the economy is coming back.
