Hey Yall…
I just might get one more time to go… Next weekend…I am about to die…is anyone getting any shrimp…Georgetown…CP …BBay?
Went to pick up new Whaler 2009 on Craigs list…there was more rust on that trailer than my 20 year old boat…so here is your sign if it is too good to be true and the pictures show the boat on carpet it is not as Purdy as she seams…he cuts it 3k off the bat…he probably never flushed out the motor…that Whaler had a great layout for shrimping… I am hooked and will save my pennies for next year…Good boat for someone but salt kills…Take car of your craft and it will take care of U

The galvanized rims on my 06 were rusting into pieces when I got it 3 years ago. Rims and tires are cheap enough if the boat is right. Don’t let the trailer scare you away. I’ve done alot of work on my trailer. Even had to replace an aluminum cross member it was corroded so bad.The boat however runs like a top. If the price is right you can justify certain repairs.
This guy had 4 boats and for a 2009 it had 286 hours. To be only 4 years old it looked great in the picts but wondered if he flushed his motor out… we saw some corrosion on the exit water pump. Run total in salt.
. Question why do they paint the bottom of some of these boats?

Better safe than sorry. Salt water is the best place to run your boat. All boats are painted on the bottom. Boats that sit in the water year around often have the bottom re-painted. Maybe a darker color bottom looks better than a dirty white bottom.
CREEKGIRL, I have a 2006 Key West that I need to sell to upgrade. Check out the classifieds and the swap shop. I can deliver it makes a great excuse to go to the coast one more time this year. I assure mine is cleaner than any other you will find. Trailer is maintained as much as the boat. New tires and bearings and races this year as well.

Say what:question: I doubt that more than 5% of boats are painted on the bottom, and the ones that are stay in the water 24/7. Not many trailer boats have bottom paint. Usually just factory gel coat.
