We started out late today due to some boat maintenance and did not get on the water until 330PM. But we decided to grab some shrimp before heading out and I am glad we did. The only thing I can get on artificial is pin fish and small trout. After an hour of casting grubs we setup on the point of a feeder creek with shrimp. 10 minutes later 29" drum took my bait and headed for the middle into a line of crab pots. Luckily he missed the ropes and I landed him. What a rush! My dad had never seen a fish rip line like that. The Minn Kota riptide was also key by helping me pull the fish away from the pots. We continued using shrimp and caught a few more reds but nothing in slot. Only caught two small trout on the grubs. I was looking forward to catching some trout on grubs.
We set a pot for crabs to hopefully catch a few bull red tomorrow at the jetties
iPhone is completely gone. The guy at MobileR in MP is very knowledgeable and helped me without charging a diagnostic fee.
Great day on the water. Love this place!
