Figured with the storm rolling in and pressure drop they were gonna be active Thursday night.
Love deer and turkey hunting before, after and during storms.
Stuck it out through the rain and fog and a little before dark a couple big does walked out into a new hardwood cut down.
As I was preparing to shoot saw a buck that looked pretty wide canter out behind me and head their way.
Was able to adjust in the cover of the rain and make a lucky shot out the back of my stand.
Was happy and surprised to see I made a great shot through the foggy wet lens and he only went 15yards.
FYI a buck is not fun to try and drag out of a new cut down in the rain alone.
Had a cam here 5 years ago and had pics of him so I can rest easy that the fat old man was a good kill.
