We did’nt plan on running out more than 30 or 40 miles so we started after daylight, and were able to cast net close to 4 doz finger mullet. On the way out of the PR sound, we found pogies and topped off the live well. The day started at the Ross going 4 for 5 on kings. Kept two for some friends that wanted fish. Despite the wet ride out with the NE winds, we decided to push on and do some bottom bumbing east of the Ross, North of R7. We found some good bottom with true reds hanging on it. Went 5 for 5 releasing two shorties and keeping three, on for each of us. We also caught the usual bottom dwellers but only wanted to keep enough to eat this weekend.
Wet and bumpy, but worth it in the end.
Congrats. Great report. Only one thing wrong with it…it wasn’t mine:smiley:

the two kings u kept like real small sure they were 24in i probably could of caught them next for a decent placing in a king tournament.

Considering that the Red Snappers were 20 to 22 inches the kings were likely close to 40 inches(better pics of the kings on Hilton Head section). Not large by any means but well over 24 inchs. We could have kept catching them all day long and likely could have caught some big ones but the objective was to find some good eats!
What won the tourny?
