Went to north Bull’s Bay with my son today via IOP ramp.
Had a decent day getting 36 quarts of mixed sizes with most being small to medium. We left with the shrimp still at the poles as my son had to go to work. We started shrimping at 9:45 and left at 1:00.
I would have liked bigger shrimp, but to paraphrase DGASQUE, we had a very enjoyable time and saw some areas that we had not seen before. The Dolfins were there but they did not seem to affect the shrimping.
As for the run from IOP ramp to Buck Hall ramp it was a 20 mile trip taking 50 minutes up and 45 minutes back (with the wind). I used 11 gallons of gasoline on the trip including working the poles. It takes me 45 minutes to get to Buck Hall by truck from IOP.
Man, that’s awsome fuel burn, what kind of rig you running?
2005 17’ Seafox CC with 90hp Mercury. I’ve been getting 4-5 mpg.

Man, I wonder where all the big shrimp are. No one I know has been catching them. All small to medium with a few large ones here or there. Last I heard the commercial guys weren’t getting large ones either, but that was a few weeks ago.
