Made a venture to the area where most of the HOW tourney was conducted…the area that drains quickly and had stranded people in the past. Well known spot, but I respect the “spot burning” issue,and will not actually name it.
Fish were pretty active in the AM, I heard lots of crashing in the weeds, and was expecting good things, but as high tide approached,the winds really kicked up and the feeding seemed to stop. Only managed one slot red…released to breed. Stayed and battled the wind for a couple of hours past high tide, and departed a happy man.
Where are you launching from? I and a couple of my friends from Georgetown are interested in fishing the Wando from our kayaks.
