10/18 & 10/19 Yellowfin slaying in Venice

I told Captain Mike Ellis of Relentless Sportsfishing I would get the word out that they were back open for business, but I already see several other reports, I’ll keep mine brief:

I called Mike two days after seeing a large part of the fishing grounds out of Venice being opened and lined up our annual trip to fill the freezer with yellowfin and as usual he put us on the fish. We decided to meat fish (live baiting around the rigs) rather than trophy hunting for the 150+ behind the shrimp boats, knowing there is always a chance of a 150+ hitting regardless of how you fish. Five of us fished two days for a total of 27 yellowfin, 7 in the 75 pound range and the remainder in the 30 to 40 pound range which is unusually small for down there, it was just a matter of trying to hook one of the larger ones before the smaller ones jumped on. We also got 4 or 5 nice dolphin and a wahoo and left the fish biting both days. If you want in on some of the best fishing around, call Captain Mike and line up a trip on his 33 Freeman made right here in S.C. at 504-715-6597 and he will do his best to put you on the fish.

Nice work Franklin. I’ll be by to get my steaks.

Send lawyers, guns, and money - The poop has hit the fan.
