10/19 Bushy

Had a fun trip out of Bushy. Just a few hours till dusk.

3rd cast (released)

One of 7 reds most near the upper slot, no real big ones today

The reds were absolutely hammering the jigs today, like they wanted to rip the rod out of my hand. Fun stuff. 73F is the optimium temp for a redfish I think

Had this real nice riverine striper at 26". Love this time of year!

Had one more striper hit a topwater 3x and miss. One of the best topwater strikes you can get is a striper IMO

Water was 73F and clear

I have only ever used the recommended 1/8 oz. Why the 3/16? Current, different action?

its always fun when whatever you throw gets nailed. nice mixed bag

Man, that water is clear! I hate that I haven’t gotten out this week – sounds like a good day! Congrats!

Doug the 1/8 oz is optimum for the TTs but of course other weights work as well. These jigs are 3/16 because they are what we consider the best weight for inshore fishing in general. There is value in getting “dialed in” to a certain setup and make it work for different situations. That’s what I do anyway.
