10/31 - Plus fish ID help

Got out on the rising with a couple of dozen live shrimp.
Got through most of them pretty quickly with trout and smallish spottails, a couple of blues and a lot of ‘bait stealers’.
Switched to Vudu shrimp under a cork and starting picking up better fish.
Dead hi tide things went dead for 45 mins or so, then got going again.
Went to a new spot for me I had fished a couple of weeks ago and started getting better spottails, plus the fish in the attached, does anyone know what it is?
Also had a spottail with a very fresh broken hook in its mouth. The hook had broken, you can actually see it in the pic, looked very fresh. So, if anyone lost a fish and reeled in to find a broken hook, this was the fish!
Had to leave them biting to get home for Halloween.
Pretty much a perfect few hours.

That’s a lizard fish… hate them. They are voracious little motherless fish!

Yeah they’re fine to hold. Crazy strong for their size, and I wouldn’t let it bite you. I caught 5 in a row the other morning… can’t stand them

What rough area were ya fishing and I will tell you rough area i was at?

Ive never had a hook break like that btw, what kind was it?

A good name brand hook is worth the money.You got to temper them hooks just right.haha
