Ugly winds today. Went fishing with a fellow Summerville Saltwater Anglers member today. Hit the waters early and the wind was already howling.
Fished a creek off the Cooper. Bob snagged a nice red that snapped off by the side of the boat after a great fight. Looked to be about 27 inches. The rest of the Cooper morning was marginal.
Threw for bait in Clouter, getting several pin fish but only one mullet:frowning_face:. Headed to a creek uo the Wando for incoming. I plucked off a trout, a flounder, and a couple rat reds with a 1/4 oz. jighead and mm. But pinfish were attacking like mad! You could feel them nipping and would snag an occasional one, even on artificial.
Bob decided he’d try the jighead - with pinfish we caught earlier. Bam! Big red on but spit the hook. Shortly after, a nice 27" red. A little while later, another over slot - all on pinfish. I figure the reds were wearing out the pin fish that were wearing out my casts!
Wind was brutal (as was the Wando straights for the return home:dizzy_face:) but the day was awesome. Looking forward to another trip, Bob!
Nice 27" red
Are we having fun yet? YEP! I think we are!
Various fish caught in various ways, today. Kind of a hunker down, see what works kind of morning!
