100 ft. 0n 10-3-08 w/ pix

Started trolling about 7am in 100 feet of water. Caught two Sailfish and about a 10lb dolphin. Saw about 25 Sailfish all holding around 100 feet range. Became slow around 9am so we decided to do some bottom fishing. We caught 30 red snapper, 3 Gag, nice gray trigger fish, red porgy, grunt, and a few pigfish. All fish were caught by 11am. As soon as we started heading in we ran across some school dolphin and picked up 8 within five minutes. All in all an extremely nice day… water temp was 77 degrees, clarity clear, and smooth as a sheet of glass.

Where did you go…With the ARS what were you using as bait? Sounds like a great day! no pics? I know now being a member of this website you CAN’T forget the camera

I couldn’t IMAGINE 30 ARS in 1 day…maybe fishing out of Destin or Pensacola, FL but out of CHUCKTOWN!!!that’s as good as 20 for 26 on bill fish

Could be reds,SF.I have been catching a lot of juvie reds,15"-19",in 30-40ft while lt tackle bsb fishing.We have had to pick up and move a few times to get out of them.They are fun on 10# tackle,but a pain in the butt when you want to catch dinner.We've been catching some 18" gags in those areas as well.They both go nuts for live finger mullet.

i also have been catching alot of ars in 30 to 40ft along with the gags and biggest i can get out of the gags is 18". all have went back of course. but if there are 18" gags shouldn’t there be at least one 24" gag in the rocks? what say ye people who fish saltwater more than i?

I am going to try a little deeper structure and larger baits next time.

capt. eddie what area you been fishing (generally speaking of course)where i have been catching these fish is not anywhere close to charleston. was wondering if might be fishing same area?

I can’t catch bigger than a 6" bsb right now in that type of water!!! couldn’t even get a keeper to smell the bait!
