I have a Yammi F150 with 102 hours. I need the 100 hour service but I want to know how many more hours can I put on the motor before it is imperative that the service is needed?

Preventative maintenance is the best kind of maintenance there is…
Sorry, but I have nothing more to offer.

cant answer that, but I can say, yamaha wants it changed at 100 hours, to protect the motor. the motor isnt going to fall off the back, just because you go over, and yamaha isnt going to void the warranty because you went over.
I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com
Thanks guys. I am all about preventative maintenance. i do plan on doing it very soon but some jerk stole the gas out of my boat and now I have to refill. At least I can put some ethanol free gas in the tank now.

You should drive in reverse for two hours and then take it in.
Did you do the 20 hr service?

Well, then you are good until at least 130hrs, I would think. I was told to do the 20hr, and then every 100hrs there after. I have been as much as 30 - 40hrs over due to fishing schedules. Actually, this last service I completed was due at 1352hrs, but I didn’t get to it until 1391hrs.
I think it turned 1404hrs on the last trip, and it is still running strong as ever! I love it.
Very easy to service. I went to Northern Tool and bought a pump to suck the oil out of the dipstick tube. Pump it a few times, release the line clamp, and I work on other stuff while it’s pumping.

I know a guy that threw a piston in his F150 at 103 hours.
He had not had the 100 hour service performed …

Ditto! If he had the 20 or 30hr service, he wouldn’t have needed the 100hr yet anyway(120hr or 130hr).
Even when I go over a little bit between services, the oil looks great and is at the same level as when it was added after a service. I change my gear oil every service also. It has always looked brand new, but I change it anyway. Yes, it cost a little to maintain, but it sure is cheaper than repair!

i’ll bet your gas gauge is broken. have some faith …
no one here is your enemy
