sat:if you like to dive and are not out there, you are missing the op of a lifetime! we stopped at a wreck in 110" and could see it from the surface! no thermocline and 78deg on the bottom and no current to speak of. we could see the bottom of our boat from the bottom in 110’! Ride out sat was on glass. we stopped in 100’ and caught our 5 man limit of fat bsb’s all 18" or better, a few beeliners and pinks, ajs tore up our pinfish as fast as we could get them down. angie took us to school on the greenheads and jordan spanked the hudge triggers, ended up with 13 of them.
went north to another wreck and worked on the groupers, large reds around 25lbs were everywere and hard to pass up.
hope eric will post some video, it is the most awesome vid I have seen with this viz! tried some #s in the garden area and had some great dives but didn’t see much to shoot! ceveche on a great ride in with a great crew, eric, angie, jordan and kevin.
sun: got marvin out of bed and again the ride out was on glass, out to 100’ jumped in with tim and on the drop he stonned a 40lb+ cobia.
shot a few grouper and a manta ray with a 10’wingspan came by overhead like a stealth fighter with a escort of 5, 50lb cobia as his wingmen. one of the most awesome sights you can see under water and the viz was still 100’. as I rose to intercept they turned and came straight to me! at 5’ i had a speedloader malfuction and MISSED!tim has got some great video. a bunch of great dives and a pile of meat.
great day on the water with tim and marvins crew.
Thanks everyone. It was another great day and the viz, oh my gosh the viz… I was snorkeling on the surface in 80’ and could see the ledge below with fish on it…
This was supposed to be a tug boat but I have no idea what that was:
Ed ready to roll:
Could see the boat for most of the dive:
Deco stop:
Would be too easy:
Giant 3 lb chunk of grouper on the grill with melted Blue Brie on top.
Goat cheese stuffed flounder with green beans and soy:
No that wasn’t a flounder. If it were, it would have been some type of a world record since we were far away from that structure when I took that picture.
Anyone have any idea what that metal thing was yet? It was supposed to be a tugboat according to the GPS coordinates.
