Fishing was smoking hot! Grabbed about 2 dozen mullet on the way out of Shem Creek. Should have grabbed 4 dozen, mullet were going down like candy!

Water was FAC all the way to the jetties. Ran 2 Carolina rigs w/ mullet and 2 “sheephead specials”. Didn’t do much sheephead fishing because we couldn’t reload the Carolina rigs fast enough! Every mullet yielded a fish. Lots of black sea bass and trout. Stout trout! Lost 3 reel screamers. Set down my sheephead special for a minute and a hammerhead smashed my fiddler crab! 2ft hammerhead on a fiddler crab! I was thrilled!

No sheepies or reds, but we had a blast!

Swivel, 20lb leader, split shot and a #2 mosquito hook w/ a fiddler. Just my nickname for the rig.

But, I think, from the picture, you caught a bonnet head shark, not hammer head.

We were culling the sheepshead before they could make it to ya haha

What you’ve got there is indeed a Bonnethead. Here’s a hammer (4ft, caught in the harbor on live medhaden):
