11/10/12 trout, reds and sheep **pics added**

MIC LITE and I hit the water before sunrise in the Clark Sound…threw some topwater to no avail…then looked for some bait to no avail…then proceeded to feed some sheeps in the folly River area…MIC LITe couldn’t coax ole granpappy sheep to get on the hook so we kept 1 sheep, fed another 15 and headed to the next spot…all artificial, red flake DOA, trout trick, fire tail green grub, white DOA…water was clear in spots, stained in others…57-59* and the sun was very warm, especially since we started with 12 layers of clothes on…total for the day was 3 keeper trout, 5 nice slot reds and 1 sheep…all fish are currently hanging out in ziplock bags in my freeze…what a great day to be on the water with a good buddy…Mrs Bonzo said you should have told me to put sunscreen on…
and as of today the PALMETTO C is back in the garage, probably for the season, or at least til the first of the year…now my neighbors can quit their beyotchin and sending me nasty letters…we have a dern boat ramp in the neighborhood for Pete’s sake…and who is Pete?

Yaaaaaaay, glad you guys had a good day. After my good day of fishing with Vinman Friday, went out yesterday and got skunked…except for a couple of buckets of wild oysters we were able to subdue.

thanks, it was a lot of fun just to be on the water this past weekend…hey, the oysters right now are awesome, I need some soon!

Breakfast of champions! Nice report and congrats on a great day!

We couldn’t find the nice big ones but the ones we got had great flavor.

Let me fill in the missing stories.

  1. Dolphin feeding freenzy on back side of lighthouse. The both of us have never seen anything like it. 20+ feeding on a lot of “something”, enough that the birds were loving the scraps. One attack it appeared to be a shrimp jumping in front of one of them. Got to love nature!!
  2. Bonzo’s quick nija skills with a little help from me. So Bonzo had one of the trout in the pictures right at the boat when the hook came out, well the trout didn’t know this and proceeded to float stoned on top of the water. “Hey he’s right there, net him I said!!!” Bonzo in one swift motion snatched the net and scooped him up. I had to laugh as I told him it appeared that if one more lb of his weight had shifted he would have taken a swim.

Great day!!!

thanks for the details…sometimes the little things escape me…
yea, we even threw the deep net on what we thought might have been shrimp, but caught none…maybe glass minnows or something, but it sure had the dolphins and birds wound up tighter than John’s hatband…
and my ninjerin’ skills with the net, yea that almost ended up with me in the drink…

The Flippers were awful this weekend, they come in the creek you might as well pack up, saw flipper chase a 20 plus inch trout on top of the water and explode him while eating the trout in mid air, absolutley amazing, the power of nature!

Hey Carl that’s a great pic of the lighthouse . I’m engaged to robbie mcmillan’s daughter I fish in the sound from time to time it can be quite tricky getting in and out . Good fishing tho
