Since today was my birthday, (65- I’m officially old now:smiley:) I decided to take the day off & go fishing. After getting bait at Ned’s, I put in at Larry Koon around 7:30 and headed to Hollow Cr., where I caught some last weekend. The wind was ripping out of the northeast right down the creek. I cruised down by the marina and it was still way too windy to fish. So I ran across the lake to Crystal Lake where it wasn’t as bad. Caught a nice 24" keeper right away. Then a short about 15 min. later. I had several hits but didn’t bring another one to the boat till about 11:30. I marked fish, but none were biting. Back to the ramp at 1:00.
All in all, not too bad of a day. I caught fish, didn’t have to go to work, and I’m still kicking. Never thought I’d live this long. If I would have known, I would have taken better care of myself.
Bob, right around the corner From the marina I cruised over to a dock @ 8pm last night to see if any decent bait was stirring. I found a good number of Striper busting the bait. Some looked to be good sized with some shorts mixed in. I didn’t bring a rod just a net. Cast a couple times thinking they may be deep but no bait. I saw some threadfins swimming around and FF was spaghetti. I may go check it out again tonight with a spinning rod after the MSC meeting.
